The Matthew Project Criminal Justice Team works with people across Norfolk who are involved with the law and have issues with drugs or alcohol.
The Enhanced Arrest Referral team primarily work in police custody suitesand magistrate court cells as part of the Drugs Interventions Programme (DIP), the team work with individuals whose illegal drug use is connected to offending, agree support plans and work with clients within the community.
Workers are located across Norfolk and support people to reduce their drug use and meet requirements set by the courts.

The Criminal Justice Team at the Matthew Project is part of the Drugs Interventions Programme (DIP). The Norfolk DIP is funded by the Home Office to reduce drug related crime.
The DIP is a partnership of existing agencies. We have workers in the following roles:

Enhanced Arrest Referral (EAR) who operate mainly within police custody and Magistrates Courts - meeting people who have been arrested overnight.

Drug Rehabilitation Requirement (DRR) Compliance Workers. They work with those placed on a DRR by the courts to give them the best possible chance of success and meet requirements.
- The Prolific and Other Priority Offenders (PPO) Scheme. We work with those on the Rehabilitation and Resettlement stage of the PPO Scheme.
