Custody and Case Management

The Custody and Case Management workers operate mainly within police investigation centres (PIC's) and Magistrates Courts - providing a service to those who are going through the criminal justice system. Workers are located across Norfolk they case manage clients and support them to achieve recovery from a lifestyle of drugs and offending.

Workers offer a service to anyone who has been arrested and needs help with drug or alcohol misuse.

We help in the following ways:

  • Assessment of substance misuse and related needs - helping clients to reduce their drug use
  • Referral to services including counselling, prescribing and other health checks
  • Advice on reducing harm and relapse prevention
  • Offer pathways to Drug Rehabilitation Requirements (DRR's)
  • Give help and information about other related issues such as housing and benefits

We primarily support individuals in the community before sentence. If someone receives a prison sentence or is remanded they can be referred to a drugs worker in prison.
