Crusader's Teetotal Week Donation

The Teetotal Challenge

This January, our Youth Project Manager Esther Heybourne challenged local rugby club, the 'Crusaders', and Norfolk's Roller Derby team, the 'Norfolk Brawds' to take on The Teetotal Challenge. Could these local athletes last a whole seven days without a cheeky pint of lager or celebratory champers?

Not one to turn down a challenge, both teams got stuck in and kept their eyes on the prize. Crusaders Captain, Jack Boorman, said, "The lads unanimously agreed to take on the challenge. The week before the challenge we lost our match - but after a week of being dry, we won and played really well. Our coach certainly thinks it was a good idea and even our barman agreed! We also raised £160 while we did it!"

The campaign took place between 18th and 24th of January and featured in the EDP and on BBC Radio Norfolk. It was a great opportunity for people to give themselves a break from the booze and raise money and awareness.

We'd like to give a massive thank-you to the Crusaders and the Brawds for getting involved in the challenge and raising money and we look forward to building on our success this year by challenging even more individuals, teams and organisations to take part in 2017's Teetotal Challenge.
