Norwich Blackfriars Rotarian cycles from London to Paris...

...for The Matthew Project and raises almost £1000.

In January this year, Andrew Fundell was challenged to cycle to Paris by a work colleague at Brown & Co.

"I agreed to take part but did not get round to buying a bike until March!'' said Andrew. "I trained with the York Tavern Cycling club. I set off with a group of 40 others from a small village called Parmoor near Henley on Thames on 28th June 2012 and arrived in Paris 3 days and 248 miles later. Despite more than my fair share of 5 punctures in the trip, we had a great trip, excellent weather and the route was well planned, taking in some fantastic sites such as Windsor Great Park, The Sussex Downs, The Palace of Versailles and of course the Eiffel tower.''

Andrew was hoping to raise around £300 for The Matthew Project, the chosen charity of Norwich Blackfriars Rotary Club of which he is a member, but yesterday he handed over a large cheque to Rosalie Weetman, our CEO, for the final grand total of £967.25.

Rosalie said, "This has been an amazing start to our fundraising campaign to raise £40,000 for a new Voicebox caravan and towing vehicle, and we are truly grateful to Andrew and Norwich Blackfriars Rotary Club for their support''.
