Young People Challenge Lisa Christensen, Director of Children's Services
Venue: St. Luke's Church, Aylsham Rd, NR3 2HF
Date & Time: 9th October 2006 6.15pm
If money were no object how would you improve schools in the area?
In an ideal world how would you improve what's available for young people?
How can you reduce stress in schools?
These are just some of the questions young people will be giving their views on in the presence of Lisa Christensen, Director of Childrens Services at The Matthew Project's AGM.
The Matthew Project's young people's steering group will be presenting their thoughts to Lisa Christensen, Director of Children's Services who is attending the meeting to commend the work of the charity. The steering group assists the Matthew Project in developing its youth services.
Guests will also hear about the work the Matthew Project does in helping young people understand the risks of drugs and alcohol. Youth workers deliver education in dynamic and culturally relevant ways that young people respect and understand.
Over the last year drug education and information has been provided to over 19,000 young people and provided specialist support to over 450 young people who are at particular risk of using drugs.
‘This is an excellent opportunity to hear what young people think about the matters which effect them - stress, the way they are sometimes talked to and what they think about drugs and schools. I look forward to hearing what they and Lisa Christensen have to say. All are welcome.'
Julian Bryant, Director of The Matthew Project
