On Saturday 30th April, 2022, The Matthew Project are hosting a Black Tie Charity Ball at the newly refurbished Dunston Hall from 7.30pm to midnight. We will be in the Sunningdale Suite which features a large balcony with views over the golf course and its own private fully licensed bar.

Guests can enjoy Adnams Belle & Co 0% sparkling wine on arrival and a delicious three course evening meal with non alcoholic table wine. We have an eight piece group from the brilliant Joe Ringer Band who will be keeping us entertained with live music throughout the evening. We will be launching our new series of videos directed by Eye Film which showcase the work that we do across Norfolk and beyond. To top it all off, we have ten fantastic auction lots available to the highest bidder, run by the very popular Chris Bailey of Auction House

The aim of the evening is to raise funds so we can continue our lifesaving work from our award-winning Next Steps Recovery Centre which had 6548 child, young person, adult and Veteran attendances from April 2020 to April 2021, despite lockdown. The centre costs an approximate £150,000 per year to run, so as you can imagine, we have our work cut out!

In our CEO Andy Sexton’s words:

‘The Matthew Project has worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to support children affected by substance misuse, or with mental health and other issues, as well as Veterans and adults in recovery. It has been widely publicised during the pandemic that there has been an increase in alcohol use, and mental health issues. As a charity we have responded by adding capacity to our Next Steps adult recovery team with a worker starting in the east and one in the west of Norfolk, with Norfolk County Council Public Health support. We have also intensifying our support for young people affected by the substance misuse of others, as well as children with low-level mental health issues, in areas where the data has shown the largest increase in need, and which happens to be in less well-served areas of Norfolk, particularly in the North and West.’
