Starting Salary:               £18,642 per annum

Working Hours:              30 hours per week

Contract:                          Part time, permanent


This is a great opportunity to be an integral part of our charity.  The Caretaker role is multi-faceted and will require a flexible approach to managing duties and workloads. 

The Matthew Project is a value-driven charity working across East Anglia giving help and hope through programmes with adults, young people and communities affected by drugs and alcohol. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, of any faith or none.

As the Caretaker, you will be based at our centre, The Hub, at 70-80 Oak Street, Norwich and be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the building and ensuring it meets health and safety regulations, including fire and burglar alarms. 

You will provide comprehensive cleaning services for The Hub (including the offices and outside areas) and maintain stocks of cleaning and toiletry supplies.  You will also provide security during normal working hours and operational support for room/premises hires, e.g. locking and unlocking the site and be the “key holder” and the out-of-hours emergency contact.

This role will also involve supporting the Workshop Coordinator in fulfilling recovery support commitments for skills, arts and crafts activities in and outside of The Hub.  Included in this will be the driving of our minibus, as and when required, for moving goods and furniture, transporting members to our allotments and other activities.
