Next Steps Recovery Centre Volunteers

The Next Steps Recovery Centre, a welcoming and vibrant place, to build community, support and skills for people in recovery from substance misuse. 

We have a number of opportunities for volunteers to pass on your skills in the following:

  • bike repair and maintenance

  • woodwork

  • dressing with confidence

  • café/ kitchen area / catering coach

  • barista trainer

  • music

  • drama/performance

  • budgeting and finance

  • cleaning

  • car and moped repair and maintenance

  • creative writing workshop facilitators

  • art and craft

  • upholstery or furniture repair

  • sport and exercise

  • yoga / mindful movement

  • hairdresser/beautician/nail technician

  • health and wellbeing

  • administrators

  • receptionists

  • ICT skills

  • minibus drivers

  • gardens and allotment team

  • building trade skills

  • general group support

  • anything else you can suggest

The Recovery Hub will be open 7 days a week so activities can be during the day, evening or weekends.  No group work experience is necessary but you do need to be able to encourage everyone to join in and feel comfortable.

 

This could be an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience in social care, education or mental health.

 

Volunteers must be able and willing to attend induction training.  Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.  References and a DBS check are usually required.

This Recovery Centre is the first of its kind in Norfolk, addressing a huge unmet need in the County.  Volunteer and be a life changer.
