NEW CEO AT THE MATTHEW PROJECT

The Matthew Project, a leading Norfolk charity, giving hope and support to young people and adults with substance misuse and mental health issues, is delighted to announce that Rachel Chapman is appointed substantive Chief Executive (or CEO) of the charity with effect from June 2023.

Rachel stepped into the role of Interim CEO in March 2023 and following a successful three-month interregnum and a panel interview with staff and service user representatives, the Board is delighted to confirm Rachel’s appointment to the permanent CEO role.

Commenting on the news, Dr Liz Wiggins, Chair of The Matthew Project said:

‘Rachel has demonstrated her leadership skills and passion for the work we do and I, and the Trustees, are delighted that she has accepted our invitation to lead the vital work of the charity into the future.’

Rachel Chapman commented:

‘I am thrilled to have been asked to lead this amazing organisation. The Matthew Project plays a vital role in bringing hope to many of the most marginalised people in our community and I look forward to helping increase the amount we can do.
‘The current economic pressure means we are seeing ever increasing demand for all of our services. At the same time we are striving to secure the all-important funding to enable us meet these demands.’
