We are super proud of Kev Dynes and the team for completeing another of their Bikepacking Fundraisers this summer. Let's here from Kev himself...

"Well that's it for another year! My friends and I have completed our fundraiser for The Matthew Project at the beginning of September, riding approximately 100 miles on our bikes, carrying all our gear for a few days camping in Tents around Norfolk.

Day 1:

Friday 4th September; We left and headed out on Marriots way towards Foulsham and took a mixture of on and off road routes, up through the lovely Little Walsingham towards Brancaster with our first overnight stop at Burnham Deepdale Campsite where we pitched our tents and went into the village for refreshments before settling down to a good sleep in preparedness for the next days riding.

The first day was hard as I hadn't prepared and quickly found my fitness levels had taken a tumble. However, we were rewarded along the way by riding through some beautiful little hamlets and villages, the weather for the most part was great and we got to stop at the top of a hill, shortly before we arrived at Burnham, where we had an amazing panoramic view along the coast from beyond Brancaster all the way to our first Campsite in Burnham.

Day 2:

Saturday 5th September; After a not very restful night we got up (we'd been allocated a pitch that was on a slope so had to keep adjusting my sleeping position so I wasn't squished up against the front of my tent), had some breakfast and got going again. My friend had plotted a lovely route and we left via Burnham Overy Staithe, on through the grounds of Holkham Hall, which was beautiful, and then along the Norfolk Coast Path via Wells Next The Sea to Blakeney and on to our second nights camping via Aldborough at Deers Glade Campsite.

We had a couple of really nice stops and took in the countryside and Sea air. When we arrived we met with the nicest Campsite warden I've ever met, who'd upgraded us to a perfectly flat, grassy pitch which made for a much more comfortable nights Kip. There was a food van onsite too so we took full advantage of that and fed ourselves up full as we knew the last slog home was coming up on day 3.

Day 3:

Sunday 6th September; Well, we all slept so much better, which was brilliant as my legs were aching and my shoulders were hurting. Riding a mountain Bike packed up with all the camping gear and other bits made for a very heavy bike. I wish I could afford all the lightweight gear but I can't, so sucked it up and just got on with it. Another lovely day meandering through our amazing Norfolk countryside taking in villages such as Erpingham and Cawston, riding through yet another fantastic Norfolk Country House that is Blickling Hall and it grounds, on through Aldeford, back onto Marriots Way via Drayton back to Norwich.

It was great to finish but even better to know that we'd completed the route and raised awareness and vital funds for The Matthew Project. I felt proud to have been able to represent my organisation and more so that I have some great friends that did it with me. I hope you enjoy some of the pictures and they give you a little feel of what it was all about."

There's still time to donate - please visit the Justgiving page here. Well done team!
