On Track is a free service that is focused on maximising the opportunities for 16 to 24 year olds furthest from the labour market to access the skills, qualifications and self-confidence needed to secure and sustain employment. We provide each young person with a coach who works with them to identify their goals and break down their barriers to education, employment and training. Many of our young people are working with other agencies and we can work with any young person as long as they fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
· 16 – 24 years old
· Live in Norfolk or accessing services in Norfolk
· Right to work in UK
· Not in education or training
· Not in any paid work
As well as our 1-2-1 coaching support, we provide positive activities that our participants can get involved with. This includes, but not limited to gaming, football, day trips out, anxiety workshops and steering groups.
Find out how one of our participants found their time with us;
“It was only with the help of my coach that I was able to overcome the many barriers that I faced when wanting to start my learning again. What I recognised while working with my coach was that I needed to develop softer skills. These included building my confidence and self-esteem, being able to be around people and dealing with the issues that I had within my family, and in gaining my independence. My coach helped me to find accommodation that meant I gained my independence. She worked with me to access training and courses that built up my self-confidence and self-esteem. She was alongside me throughout.”
“Meeting new people, helped ease a lot of my anxiety. I made best friends though working with On Track. First activity was in an LGBT group where I met like-minded people and was able to build bonds with them. Really helped with my anxieties, joining the activities helped with my depression as it gave me a reason and motivation to get out of the house.”
We are ready to help any young person that would like to engage to overcome their barriers to help them get closer to education, employment or training.
