Support for Parents

Our Unity team now has a Parent Support Practitioner, which means we can support parents concerned about their child’s alcohol or drug use, even if the child is not accessing Unity services. Our Parent Support Practitioner offers one-to-one and group support to help parents understand substance use, improve communication, manage difficult situations, and have their views heard. Support is available online or at Oak Street, with some evening appointments available. To discuss a referral, contact the Unity team. Support for parents | Young People

NEET Voice (if you need anymore details ask Anita Gagen)

Over the next three years, our On Track team be working with young people aged 13 - 24 not in education, employment, or training (NEET), or at risk of becoming NEET, across Norfolk to make sure their voices are heard by the people making important decisions. We'll help remove barriers and support young people to lead social action projects on the issues that matter most to them. Participants will also have the opportunity to work towards recognised accreditations. Supported by The National Lottery Community Fund through the #iwill Fund, helping young people lead positive social action across England.

Training for professionals

We’re offering free training for professionals working with children, young people and families. Book any of the three sessions individually, or attend the full series. Each explores a distinct but connected theme designed to strengthen your practice. Sessions are available both in person and online. Theme 1 - Understanding Substance Use in Children and Young People: Build  your understanding of commonly used substances, current local trends and  associated risks. Theme 2 - Talking to Young People About Substance Use: Develop  confidence through practical tools, effective approaches and multi-agency  working. Theme 3 - The Impact of Parental Substance Use on Children and Young People: Explore how parental substance use  can affect children and young people, and consider effective ways to support  them.
