Young People's Programme Updates from Anita, our On Track Team Manager
It’s been an exciting time for our On Track team! We’ve hosted a range of activities across both King’s Lynn and Norwich, giving our young people plenty of opportunities to learn, create, and have fun.
Social activities included classics like bowling and board games, as well as a murder mystery activity that had everyone guessing. We also had a wonderful upcycling workshop facilitated by CREA Norfolk, where we designed our own T-shirts.
One of the standout sessions from the start of the year welcomed a local tattoo artist from Adorn Tattoo in King’s Lynn to Oak Street.
He ran an engaging and inspiring session, exploring:
The history of tattooing
What it takes to break into the industry
The dedication required to succeed
He also worked with participants on sketches, giving them a hands-on introduction to the tattoo process. The session was a unique experience and captured everyone’s imagination.
We hope to bring you more young people's programme updates throughout the year - so keep your eyes peeled on our Young People's Blog for more news from our On Track, Unity, and YouCan Teams.
On Track Participant Feedback
Harley, who received one-to-one coaching through On Track and now attends weekly social SafeSPACE activities, gave us his feedback on our service:
I can only thank everyone so much for helping me out since I started, and giving me opportunities like workshops that I wouldn’t be able to experience without their help. I enjoyed all the different sessions which allow me to find interesting new things to do.
Harley's dad shared a moving account of Harley's personal development:
My son has flourished thanks to the work of Mathew Project Norwich and the activities he's been able to attend. Due to his ASD, physical issues, and the loss of his mother to cancer, he has struggled to find a way to achieve many things.
With the help of his Young People's Practitioner providing him with support, guidance and a new structure, I’ve seen his confidence grow, social skills flourish, and an overall huge positive impact in his life.
Thanks to the activities on offer and great staff, Harley now has a greater appreciation of everything. His skills, socially, practically and academically, have improved 100%.
