The Matthew Project would like to say a massive THANK YOU for all the donations we have received during the Big Give Christmas Challenge. In the end the total came to a whopping £20,199!

These donations are vital for us to continue to provide the life-changing services that we offer. £10,000 will be used by our Next Steps Recovery Support Programme, funding new art supplies, a yoga teacher, furniture and more. The other £10,199 will go to Outside the Wire, our service that supports veterans with substance misuse issues and PTSD. Outside the Wire have had to cope with some difficult funding cuts this year, but luckily this money allows us to continue providing this amazing service that gives veterans new hope.

We are all truly grateful for the incredibly kind and generous people that have donated money.

We also wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone of our beautiful, still almost new Next Steps Centre that opened its doors a year ago now. The building won the Architecture Award 2020 for Best Completed Charity Architecture Project, being called “unique”, with its “modern yet cosy aesthetic, that combines industrial features with homely character”.

The centre features a welcoming café and social area, a fully functioning workshop, indoor exercise space, computer room, art studio and much more. If you want to talk to someone about your problems, attend our workshops or other services, or simply need a space to relax from the stress of everyday life, pop in for a cup of tea or coffee!

Our opening hours can be found on our website here

Also, keep checking our social media pages for some everyday inspiration, updates on our work and tips how to get through this certainly unique winter.

Have a cosy and safe December,

The Matthew Project Team
