I hope you are keeping well? Just an Outside The Wire update for you all on what’s been happening and what is coming up over the next few months.
IWM Duxford Museum Trip – On Monday 26th July I was able to take a group of 10 Veterans down to IWM Duxford for the day. The weather was perfect throughout and a great day was had by all. The twin seat Spitfire was buzzing about the skies and some of the warbirds (Mustang, Spitfire, Hurricane etc.) had been pulled out the hangers providing some great photographic opportunities. We had hoped to take more people on this trip however when we booked it there was still constraints with the numbers we could take. Hopefully now as things are easing it will become easier to take a few more people on future trips.
Norwich Veterans Drop-In Centre - The Norwich Drop-In will be open on Tuesday 3rd and Tuesday 10th August as usual at Oak Street 18:30-20:30.
Norfolk Tank Museum - Tuesday 31st August – Planned trip to the Norfolk Tank Museum near Long Stratton. There will be a concessionary charge for this trip of £5 per person for those who want to attend. This will be private viewing so chance to get up-close to some fine military vehicles many which are still fully working. I will be taking a list of those interested so please drop me a line if you want to attend. Minibus transport will be provided. We plan to meet at Oak Street at 16:00 and return back to Oak Street no later than 21:00.
Seething Observatory – We are planning to do a trip in September. Further details to follow.
Tour De Broads 2021 – As you may know I am leading a team of Veterans on a 75’mile cycle on the Tour De Broads, to help raise vital funds for Outside The Wire. Please donate if you can. It will be a big challenge for all of us taking part.
