The Matthew Project Next Steps August Update

The Next Steps Team have been keeping busy these past few months, from supporting adults through the eight-week recovery programme to delivering wellbeing workshops.

Next Steps staff and members recently had the honour of attending a lunch with The Rt Revd Graham Usher, Bishop of Norwich to celebrate the work of charities over the last three years.

Representing TMP, they joined the celebration with 60 other local charities.

Catering Team Update

A buffet spread, with a long table covered in a red and white checked tablecloth, full of food on various different platters.

July has been jam-packed for our kitchen staff, too, having just completed three buffets, two of which were social enterprise. This includes a buffet for TCNUK in Pottergate, catering for 50 guests (pictured above!)

The team also hosted the International Youth Club run by Norfolk County Council Children’s Services, supporting young people to come and cook traditional meals from their own cultures and share them with others. Our Recovery Centre was brightly festooned with international flags, with around 50-60 people in attendance.

Both events were made possible as a result of the hard work behind the scenes by the volunteers of TMP!

Next Steps For Veterans Update

A poster from Future Radio Norwich on their Veterans' Voices feature.

At the latest Veteran Café meet-up, Christopher Remer from Future Radio Norwich gave a talk about the Creative Connections project, Celebrating Veterans Voices.

This project involves three methods of recording military veterans voices: making a podcast, participating in the Record Club (where you select a record and telling the listeners what the song means to you), and curating your own People's Playlist PSA with all your favourite records.

The majority of the veterans present last week expressed interested in the podcast - and three of them will attend the studio at Future Radio and participate in a podcast.
